Myrtle Beach Low-Country Oyster Roast Celebrates Decades Of Success.
Times have changed, technology has changed, but some things are appreciated for remaining exactly the same as they were decades ago. For over 40 years Sea Mist Oceanfront Resort has served up a grande, All-You-Can-Eat Low-Country Oyter Roast located under the ancient oaks draped in Spanish Moss in their Yaupon Parking Lot. People of all ages from all markets staying at the resort gather as one collective to enjoy the succulent oysters, scattered steaming hot across the weathered wooden tables. It is as though time has stood still, as Oysterers take a moment to appreciate the breeze in the trees, the fellowship, and good old fashion hospitality. Available primarily on Wednesdays (weather permitting) in February, March, April, October and November, tickets are available for only $12 per person at Sea Mist's front desk on 12th Avenue South in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

New Rides at Myrtle Beach's Family Kingdom Amusement Park in 2013
The largest amusement park along Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach is upgrading for the summer season by adding four new rides and renaming its oceanfront water park.
Family Kingdom Amusement Park, at 300 S. Ocean Boulevard, will debut the Twist ‘n’ Shout Wild Mouse-style steel roller coaster, which officials say offers a different experience than its other, well-known Swamp Fox Wooden Roller Coaster. See More...
Big South Announces Site For 2013-15 Basketball Tournaments
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) - The Big South Conference Council of Chief Executive Officers voted today to award the 2013-15 Big South Men's and Women's Basketball Championships to Myrtle beach/Coastal Carolina University. The combined tournaments will be held in Coastal's new on-campus Student Recreation and Convocation Center.
"We received four excellent bids to host our Basketball Championships," said Big South Commissioner Kyle B. Kallander. "This was not an easy decision for the CEOs. Ultimately they chose the bid from Myrtle Beach/Coastal Carolina, and we are looking forward to taking our marquee event to the Grand Strand for the next three years. We are also very appreciative of all the bids and interest we received."
The other three bidders were Asheville/UNC Asheville, Rock Hill/Winthrop University and Winston-Salem, N.C.
More information on the tournament dates and format of the 2013 event will be announced at a later date.
